Costumer/Costume Designer
A person skilled in theatrical costume sewing, specifically for ballet, is required in the lead-up to our annual January season. This position is to replace our current retiring costumer and designer, Carmel Wenck, who has been instrumental in cementing BTQ’s enviable reputation for its sumptuous looking ballets.
The position is contracted and part-time from June to January, with hours self-determined, and dependent on work-load. It requires the person to have their own sewing studio as the work is both on-site at our Kelvin Grove studios and off. A strong interest in costume design is also desirable as well as a good rapport with children and young adults. A Blue Card is mandatory.
The position requires initiative, creative problem solving, the ability to work to deadlines, and the ability to work collaboratively within the company’s creative team of professional artists.
Please send all expressions of interest, detailing qualifications and experience, to contact@btq.com.au
