Become a BTQ Dancer
To become a BTQ dancer you need to be 9 years of age or older and studying Grade 4 RAD (or equivalent) or above.
We welcome students from all dance schools. We train from the Qld Dance School of Excellence and are not aligned with any one dance school. All dancers who audition are given equal opportunities.
Our auditions are relaxed and fun, with students taking part in a master class run by our Artistic Directors (and a guest adjudicator).
Students are advised by mail if they have been accepted into the cast for the current production.
If accepted into the company, members are expected to attend all rehearsals as scheduled. These are held most Sundays during Terms 3 and 4 of the school year.
Rehearsals include a master class and then choreography and run throughs, all held between 10am and 5pm at the Queensland Dance School of Excellence in Kelvin Grove.
Two weeks of intensive rehearsals are held during the first week of the September school holidays and the week before the performances in January.
Performances are held in the Playhouse Theatre at QPAC.
The cast produces six performances which usually run during the final week of the January school holidays.
